Estimate base material beneath a paver area with adjustable compaction loss. Start with the published examples below, then use your own supplier quote for a delivered estimate.
Fines Base — Small, 3/8-inch-minus crushed concrete — $65 per cubic yard
Material price. Published material price for 3/8-inch-minus crushed concrete, described for paver bases, at the Plano and Lewisville yards.
Sold in full and half cubic yards; pickup is available. Delivery minimums depend on distance and material quantity; fees and tax require a quote. The saved schedule covers pickup only. Confirm product suitability and actual density.
Use the base depth from your project specification.
Bedding sand and pavers are separate materials.

Plan your gravel paver base
What to measure
Measure the base footprint required by the paving plan, including any specified extension beyond the pavers.
Enter only the aggregate base thickness; keep bedding and paver thickness separate.
Worked example: 12 ft × 12 ft × 6 in
12 × 12 × (6 ÷ 12) ÷ 27 = 2.6667 yd³; divide by 0.85, then multiply by 1.05.
5% waste · 15% shrinkage
Neat volume
2.6667 yd³
Volume with allowances
3.2941 yd³
Illustrative dimensions and allowances. Use your project specification and supplier’s product data. Quantities shown are before supplier rounding.
Included in this quantity
The aggregate base layer with user-entered volume loss and waste.
Measure or price separately
Bedding material, pavers, edging, joint material, fabric and installation equipment.
Choose the specified product
Match the base specification for the paving system. A supplier’s paver-base example is not a substitute for the specified gradation or an open-graded permeable-pavement design.
Before booking the order
If this base also supports a saved concrete section, link it in that section’s budget so the material cost is counted once. Confirm actual density and half-yard or whole-yard sale increments.
